MACIEJ PAWŁOWSKI

Maciej Pawłowski – composer, conductor, director and educator. On July 15th, 2014 his rock opera Shambhala was the first Polish musical to be performed on a London stage. He is also the first conductor in the world who has been the musical director of all “Golden Five” musicals: The Phantom of the Opera and Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Les Misérables and Miss Saigon by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Dance of the Vampires by Jim Steinman. His own scores include the first Polish dance musical Art Factory, a musical Legend of the Bald Mountain, rock operas The Amazons and the Vikings and Shambhala, a dramatized oratorio The Battles of Shambhala, a ballet Lamaila and over 20 theatrical plays. During his tenure in Musical Theatre ROMA, he was the musical director and conductor of nine musicals: Crazy For You by George Gershwin, Miss Saigon by Claude-Michel Schönberg, Grease by Jim Jacobs, Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Academy of Mr. Kleks by Andrzej Korzyński, The Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Les Misérables by Claude-Michel Schönberg, Dance of the Vampires by Jim Steinman and Aladdin JR by Alan Menken. He produced numerous albums. He also conducted the orchestras during seven recordings: Fame by Steve Margoshes, Crazy For You, Cats (a Golden Record), Dance of the Vampires (a Platinum Record), The Academy of Mr. Kleks (a Golden Record), The Phantom of the Opera (a Triple Platinum Record), and Les Misérables (a Golden Record). Apart from his own productions, he directed and conducted a musical show Gershwin in the Grand Theatre in Łódź. He founded a musical school (ASM) that has allowed young people from all over Poland to learn singing, dancing and acting since 2007. He devotes his free time to studying ancient history and astronomy.
